One in a Million

So, basically..Chef Wan is one of the personnel or we can say that one of the successful public figure that we, Malaysian can referred to or idolized by. There were countless places that he went to and still counting, I guess.

He can be considered as one in a million. This can be approved just by looking at his performances and how much his contribution towards our country. Not many of us or even any public figure can do that. 

Chef Wan know best how to boost up his career and use his passions up into becoming his profession. He know where's he good at, where he can find the chance and cook, humbly receive the invitations from people and also being warm and friendly with others especially his fans, who admirer his work.

Most importantly, Chef Wan knows how to rose up Malaysia's name and take a good care of the image. He manage to represent Malaysia's name well and wide. Now..if you travel to any Asian country or even Europe, you might probably been asked about the famous Chef Wan as one of the attraction to our country

Public Figure

Chef Wan, whose graduated from California Culinary Academy, San Francisco, United States with a degree in Professionals Chef Training and Hotel Management and a diploma from the Ritz Hotel, Paris, France was a divorced father and raised his two children.

The daughter, Serina was an actress and was a well-known public figure in Malaysia. Same goes with his son, whose following Chef Wan step by taking cooks and culinary as the career, Chef Riz. Both of them were known by most of the Malaysian citizen. 

During his lifetime career, Chef Wan has to date cooked for many famous personalities which includes Sultan Brunei as well as the former US President, Bill Clinton, and of course the Indonesian and Thailand Royal family.

Maybe one or two issues had happened in this man life but the issues, which probably could be regarded as gossips could not affected his career in becoming the chef celebrity that valued by people. Despite the problems, Che Wan manage to control his emotion and manage to overcome all problems that he encountered without loosing anything. On top of all, he still been awarded with tonnes of appreciation and recognition all around the world.

The Achievements

To be exact, Chef Wan had received hundreds of recognition from all around the world for his best cookings and performance each time he visits the places. He received awards not just in Malaysia, but also from the other countries as well. 

To name a few..Chef Wan had received the Prominent Modern Malay Chef Award given by UITM, Pulau Pinang on 2007. He then also conferred Datukship by the Yang diPertuan Agong Malaysia on 2009. He also got appoint as the Food Ambassador of Malaysia by the Minister of Tourism of Malaysia, on behalf Malaysian Goverment on the next year. He was then had received the Tourism Ministry's Special Awards for promoting Malaysia abroad.

Well, that is little if you want to compare Chef Wan's achievements abroad. This 'makcik-makcik' -style-of-a guy was also being recognize by the foreigners. They valued his works and praises his performances. Among them were, being honored with Honorary Fellowship Award from Thames Valley, University of London, by School of Hospitality on 2007. He then also received 'The Best Jury Award' at the Le Mazille Prix World Gourmand Food & Media Awards, Beijing on the same year. And throughout the same ceremony on 2009, he received 'The Best Celebrity Chef in the World Award' in Paris.

Apart from that, Chef Wan international recognition has even captured the attention of the Tourism Authority and Royal Kingdom of Thailand which bestowed upon him with the 'Friends of Thailand Award' in 2010. Now..I don't know about you guys, but at this moment, I would be very proud to have him as our people. What an appreciation he got there. Pheww

Last but not least, Chef Wan also is one of the recipient for The Malaysia Book of Record and was chosen as the Best Editor's Choice Award for his best-selling cook book, which is The Best of Chef Wan Taste of Malaysia.
